Detailers Never Miss These Crucial Areas

When you opt for a professional car wash at a reputable wash like Snap Clean, your options include a full-service wash or a semi-DIY wash. Snap Clean’s tunnel offers a premium exterior wash from bumper to bumper, but we save you money and make regular car washing more affordable by leaving aspects of the car cleaning process up to our customers.

Our high-powered vacuums, spray cleaner and towel service make it easy to get a great clean without the higher cost of a so-called “full service” wash. Make the most of your monthly pass by hitting the tunnel at least once a week. Looking to take your weekly wash to the next level of interior clean? Our exterior wash packages make it easy to tackle washing your vehicle, but what if you want to really make your interior clean and shiny? Next time you visit one of our three North Texas locations, take a look at these tell-tale areas of your vehicle. These are the areas that detailers never miss and that can make your vehicle truly feel like new!

Door jams. An easy place to clean that you’ll miss if you simply swing through the tunnel is the door jams on your passenger doors. Clean from top to bottom and front to back with a microfiber cloth to remove scuffs and dirt. Your vehicle will feel so much better to step into when you open the doors.

Rear lift gate hinges. Dried leaves and pollen can work their way into the cracks and crevices of your cargo area hinges and hydraulics. Take a few minutes to remove detritus and then thoroughly wipe down with wet microfiber cloths, focusing on removing any scuffs and grime.

Console and glove box. Remove all the junk and clutter from your console and glove box once in a while. Thoroughly wipe out the storage areas. In some vehicles, the glove box is accessible from the engine compartment, so we also recommend checking frequently to make sure rodents aren’t making themselves at home in the glove box. Need some ideas for getting organized? Check out these tips for keeping your storage areas tidy.

Engine compartment. During cold weather, it’s especially important to check the engine compartment regularly. Rodents and squirrels love to nest in a warm engine compartment during the winter months. Clear out any sticks and leaves with a vacuum or even an air compressor. Clean the surfaces with an automotive degreaser, making sure to avoid electronic components and wiring. Cover electrical components with plastic before rinsing the cleaner out of the engine compartment.

Fuel door. This is such an easy area to clean, and most folks never clean it. Grab an automotive degreaser and spray it on the inside of the fuel door. Let the cleaner go to work on the girt and grime. Then rinse it thoroughly with a garden hose, making sure you remove any cleaner from the painted surfaces of your vehicle. Dry with a microfiber cloth.

HVAC system vents. Who wants dust blowing in their face when you’ve just cleaned your car? Use a can of compressed air to remove visible dust from your AC system vents. Then wipe them thoroughly with a microfiber cloth.

Seat belt buckle crevices. If the kids are frequent passengers, you need to check those seat belt buckles. Vacuum thoroughly and clean off any stickiness with an automotive safe adhesive remover like Goo Gone. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Ready to experience the best clean for one affordable price? Check out our monthly pass options. Wash as often as you need to at all three locations for one low price, starting at $15.95.
