There are plenty of standard cool weather car care tips we could share – in fact, we’ve shared some of our ideas here and here. One thing that stands out as a major flaw of fall is that there’s just more crap on the ground – leaves, acorns, pollen, mud – and it all makes its way into your car. Here are our favorite ideas for keeping your car looking and feeling great during the changing seasons.

Clean your mats! All those beautiful fall leaves look wonderful falling gently when they’re not on your lawn or on your driveway, but they inevitably get tracked into your house and your car. Cool season rain just means mud to get tracked onto your carpet.

Take the time to clean your interior. Our vacuum cleaners have been reopened and are free to use. Remove the mats from your car and vacuum every time you visit Snap Clean to keep debris at bay.

Rubber mats are more durable for wet and muddy weather, but they still need to be cleaned regularly. Vacuum first, and then clean with a mild dish detergent soap like Dawn blue and a bristle brush.

Ideally, wax should be applied before the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Visit us during the day if possible once the weather cools for the best performance. At Snap Clean, we do not operate our tunnel unless temperatures are above 28 degrees. This is to ensure that our detergent and shine applications perform their best. It is more difficult to dry your car and to get the most out of our wash formulas in super cold weather.
